My research themes revolve around the Middle Paleolithic and the transition to the Upper Paleolithic, with an emphasis on subsistence lifestyles and human population dispersal models. I am especially interested in the impact of climate change and connections with the paleoenvironment. Archaeozoology has also led me to do research on the paleoethology and taxonomy of equids and bone and tooth growth patterns as well as ethnoarchaeozoology studies. I currently head the ecomorphology laboratory and the Hominid Dispersals Research Group (HDRG).
