Arie Afriansyah is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia. He is also the Chairman of Djokosoetono Research Center Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia; the Editor in Chief of Indonesia Law Review, and the Senior Associate Editor for Indonesian Journal of International Law.

Arie teaches several international law both at the undergraduate and graduate level. The subjects, among others, are Public International Law, The Law of Treaties, International Environmental Law, The Law of the Sea, Diplomatic Law, and The Law on International Organisations.

Arie’s research interests are centred in the development of international law and focusing more on the intersect fields of International environmental law and international humanitarian law.

Arie obtained his Bachelor in Law (Sarjana Hukum/SH) in 2003 from Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia. In 2006, he received the degree of Master of International Law (MIL) from the University of Sydney Law School, Australia. Finally, Arie obtained his Doctorate Degree in Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Otago, New Zealand in August 2013.
