Professor, Biodiversity, Phylogeny & Evolution, Simon Fraser University

I am a professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, where I teach courses in evolution and biodiversity. I study how we can best test claims about the benefits of biodiversity to people. I currently (2016-) sit on the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada, a body that assesses bits of biodiversity, and, if they seem to be at risk, recommends that the Federal Government protect and recover them.
