My research explores the evolutionary dynamics of zoonotic viruses, including how viruses emerge and adapt in new hosts. I am currently a CSIRO CERC Fellow, working at the Australian National Wildlife Collection. I'm utilising the historical specimens held by the collection to identify viral fragments in Australian wildlife over the past century. These viral fragments will help us understand the wildlife "virosphere" in Australia, including both viral evolution and host-virus dynamics, and how it has changed during major environmental shifts.
