Dr Aurel Sari is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Exeter. His work focuses on questions of operational law, including the law of armed conflict, the legal status of foreign armed forces and the application of human rights law in deployed operations. He has published widely on these subjects and lectures regularly on the international law and military operations in the UK and abroad. Aurel is a Fellow of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps and the Director of the Exeter Centre for International Law. He is writing here in a personal capacity.
