I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology, and an MSc degree in Applied Criminology and Forensic Psychology. I am a final year PhD researcher and an Associate Lecturer in Psychology.
My PhD is exploring gender differences in narcissism within Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). It adopts a mixed-method approach and is constituted by three individual studies. In these studies, the subtleties of narcissism are explored with respect to gender development, underlying motives of IPV and variances in self-esteem regulation in both subclinical and clinical settings. Such foci are anticipated to generate data that will provide a novel understanding of the gendered manifestations and exploitative strategies that narcissists navigate within IPV. What is more, it is hoped that the three studies combined will ultimately yield a gendered theorisation of narcissism, one that has been previously neglected in the existing literature and current theories of narcissism.
