Azim Sahir is a PhD Student and Research Assistant at the Centre for Muslim States and Societies in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Western Australia. His research focuses on Islam, secularism and democratisation. He has a BA in Philosophy and Politics and completed his MA at the University of Sydney. He was senior project co-ordinator of the Elections Observation Program of Transparency International Maldives.
