Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, School of Medicine, University of Washington

I am a board-certified oncologist who specializes in treating patients with gynecologic malignancies. My expertise includes a full range of surgical and medical care: robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, chemotherapy and more. In addition to providing care, I am the chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UW Medicine, and I serve as the surgeon-in-chief at UW Medical Center.

Throughout the course of my career, I have participated in clinical trials evaluating novel therapies for the treatment of gynecologic cancers. In 2005, I was the first recipient of the Rosalind Franklin Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research Award, presented by the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Currently, I’m collaborating with investigators at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to develop more targeted and personalized therapies for ovarian cancer. My other research projects include improving the genetic testing rate for ovarian cancer and improving patients’ quality of life, with a particular focus on symptom management.
