I received a BSc in Marine Biology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2009, followed by a Masters degree (2013) while tracking fishes and sharks with the California State University Long Beach Shark Lab. After a significant amount of sailing around the Hawaiian Islands and work in fisheries ecology, I came to Tasmania to conduct PhD research on climate-driven marine species range extensions (completed 2021). My research combines different laboratory, field and modelling approaches along with citizen science to study marine species (esp. fishes) behaviour and physiology so we can better understand how they are responding to a changing ocean.
