Emeritus Professor in Environmental Law, University of Sydney

Ben Boer was appointed as Emeritus Professor in the University of Sydney in late 2008. In 2011 he was appointed as Distinguished Professor at Wuhan University Law School in its Research Institute of Environmental Law. He now teaches in Wuhan for around three months a year. Between 2006 and 2008, he was the international Co-Director of the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) Academy of Environmental Law and Visiting Professor based at the University of Ottawa. He was appointed as Deputy Chair of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law in 2012, a position he will hold until 2016.
