Ben Stewart-Koster

Senior research fellow, Griffith University

Ben is a quantitative ecologist with expertise in statistical modelling for ecological applications. He works on basic and applied research in aquatic systems from local to global scales collaborating with researchers, managers and farmers on projects across Europe, Asia, the USA and Australia. With a broad focus on relationships between river flows and aquatic ecosystems, he applies innovative statistical approaches to identify important ecological relationships and guide the management of river ecosystems.

His work with the Earth Commission and Future Earth has focused on determining safe and just Earth system boundaries for blue water, nitrogen and phosphorus.
