Senior Lecturer in Defence Studies Education, King's College London

Dr Bence Nemeth is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the Defence Studies Department of King’s College London, where he primarily teaches British and international military officers at the Defence Academy of the UK. Currently, he serves as the Academic Programme Director of the Advanced Command and Staff Course (ACSC), the flagship postgraduate course of the UK Joint Services Command and Staff College centred on the military operational level of warfare.

Dr Nemeth is regularly invited to give guest lectures at military staff colleges overseas and has lectured at the Baltic Defence College, the Czech University of Defence, the Irish Command and Staff School, the Netherlands Defence Academy, the Royal Danish Defence College and the South Korean Naval War College. Prior to moving to King’s, Dr Nemeth had been working in various positions at the Hungarian Ministry of Defence for eight years, and also taught at the Hungarian National Defence University.

His book titled 'How to Achieve Defense Cooperation in Europe?—The Subregional Approach' was published by Bristol University Press in 2022. His scholarly papers were published in International Affairs, Futures, Defence Studies, RUSI Journal, Defense and Security Analysis, The Korean Journal of Defense Analysis and The Air Power Journal. His writings have also appeared in War on the Rocks, The Conversation and The Times, and he was quoted or interviewed by among others The Wall Street Journal, Channel 4, CNA (Singapore), TRT World (Turkey), The National (UAE) and British Forces Broadcasting Service.

Dr Nemeth completed his PhD in Defence Studies at King’s College London and holds an MBA in Defence Systems Management from the US Navy’s Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey, CA).
