Ben is a senior lecturer in Sustainability and Urban Planning at RMIT.

Ben’s research interests encompass the social and political dimensions of nature conservation. This includes everyday human-environment relationships, protected areas, urban natures, rural-amenity landscapes and private land conservation.

Ben is currently working on projects that explore the emergence of private protected areas for conservation in Australia, the influence of property rights in shaping green cities and challenging colonial approaches to conservation.
