Ben is a senior lecturer in Sustainability and Urban Planning at RMIT.

Ben’s research interests encompass a critical social science perspective on nature conservation. This include the intricacies of human-environment relations, protected areas, urban natures, environmental stewardship and private land conservation.

Ben is currently working on projects that explore the emergence of private protected areas for conservation in Australia, the influence of property relations in shaping green cities and the role of commons and commoning practices in conservation.
