Benjamin Kaufman

PhD Scholar in Transport, Griffith University

I am currently pursuing my PhD. The research I am undertaking explores the concept of transportation equity, evaluating how we can create transit systems that work for everyone. This work is based in Brisbane, Australia and utilizes innovative micro-transit feeder-systems to increase access to large-scale transit infrastructure and other opportunities.

My Masters in Natural Resources with a certificate in Sustainable Transportation Planning focused on the use of mobile applications in transportation surveying and modeling, as well as modeling transportation based carbon emissions in Vermont.

My previous research examined the interactions between cyclists and drivers on roadways, finding unexpected relationships between bike lanes and car speeds, resulting in detrimental impacts on safety.
