I was a police officer for 19 years before joining Academe in 2007.
I hold a B Tech Policing and an M Tech Policing degree (both cum laude) at the Tshwane University of Technology and a DLitt et Phil at the University of South Africa.
My research interests span the following topics: Policing and crime/forensic investigations, Ethics and policing, Police corruption, Crimes against natural and cultural heritage, Online teaching (ODL/ODeL).
I was awarded the Excellence In Tuition Award in 2017 for Student Support and I am presently a grant holder for ODL research, together with a project team of 8 fellow-researchers.
I was appointed as the Chair of the Department of Police Practice from 2017 - 2020, after which time I returned to my first love: Tuition.
