Bethany is a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich, working on the BECCY project, which focuses on understanding the development and evolution of the Hengduan Mountains biodiversity hotspot in Yunnan, China. She recently competed her PhD at the University of Leeds, on analysing the fossil record to understand the impact of the end-Permian mass extinction event (~250 million years ago) on spatial patterns of biodiversity. More broadly, Bethany's research interests centre around understanding biodiversity and its drivers on geological time scales.
