Bethany Robertson

Lecturer in Sociology and Social Policy, University of Leeds

Bethany is a qualitative social scientist with expertise in farming inequalities, identities and how these link to wider transformations in the agricultural sector.

She recently was involved in research funded by the ESRC and based at the University of Leeds which explored labour shortages in farming by investigating the experiences of farmers and seasonal migrant farm workers post-Brexit. Previously she completed a PhD in Sociology on the experiences of women farmers in England and worked on a British Academy funded project at the University of Liverpool which examined the ways farmers engage with social media and how narratives of farming are communicated online.
