Dr. Bhanukiran Gurijala obtained his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering from India in 2005. He received master’s degree in Software Engineering from University of Houston-Clear Lake, Houston, Texas in 2008 and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso, Texas in 2016.

His primary areas of research interests are in Software Engineering and Cyber-security.

Dr. Gurijala has a good combination of experience working in academia and industry. He has over five years of experience working in the software industry and has over four years of experience working full-time in academia. His overall professional experience is over fifteen year out of which most of it is from USA and around two years from India. While working in the industry, Dr. Gurijala worked at different capacities in several roles and shouldered various responsibilities. He also helped manage cyber-security efforts in a product-based company.

Dr. Gurijala is scrum master certified and received Effective Teaching Practices certification from ACUE (Association of College and University Educators) and ACE (American Council on Education). He is actively involved in professional associations and serves as reviewer and judge. He is also actively involved in leadership roles and is part of advisory boards and steering committees.
