Bill completed his PhD while lecturing in Applied Physics at RMIT. He then joined the Australian Antarctic Division working as a Field Glaciologist with the Ice Core Drilling Program over a period of two years. He joined The Wark in 1992 working on the surface chemistry and physics of minerals and materials. Majority of Bill's activity is in the study of physical and chemical processes at surfaces and interfaces. In particular, mineral and material surface chemistry together with forensics, environmental science and biomaterials. His expertise in advanced methods characterisation, including synchrotron techniques, have enabled him to work across many fields of science and engineering.
