Professor of Public Health, Flinders University

Professor Billie Bonevski is one of Australia's leading health behaviour scientists. She is a Professor of Public Health and Lead, Public Health at the College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University, Adelaide, SA. She is Deputy Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence on Achieving the Tobacco Endgame based at UQ and is an Honorary Professor at UQ and the University of Newcastle.

Billie's research focusses on health behaviour change interventions, particularly for chronic disease primary, secondary and tertiary prevention such as tobacco control, cancer and cardiovascular disease prevention and provision of evidence based preventive care. She holds National Health and Medical Research Council, Medical Research Future Fund, and other grants in various aspects of improving individual, systems and population based health practices. She has published over 200 peer reviewed articles. Her work is highly translational and usually conducted in partnership with health services, non-government organisations, the community and health consumers.
