Assistant professor in Nordic Studies, University of Copenhagen

Brigit's primary fields of research include Danish place names and personal names. She is currently researching place names on the island of Læsø.

Since 2012 she has been associate professor at the Department of Scandinavian Research, Name Research Section, University of Copenhagen. Before that she worked as assistant professor at in the same department. She completed her PhD in Name Research in 2006.

Recent publications include a paper entitled "The continuity of Viking Age names in Denmark ‒ 18th-century evidence of long-lasting survivors" and the co-authored paper, "100 år med Danmarks Stednavne: og et kig ind i fremtiden".
