Brad West is an Associate Professor in the School of Communication, International Studies and Languages. His research is principally on historical interpretation and how this is altered by forms of commemoration. He is a Faculty Fellow at the Yale Center for Cultural Sociology, founding co-chair of the Cultural Sociology thematic group in The Australian Sociological Association and a 2017 Fellow of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. Amongst other administrative roles he is on the Board of the International Sociological Association's Research Committee in Sociological Theory and serves on the advisory editorial boards of Tourist Studies and the American Journal of Cultural Sociology.
