I am a current doctoral student at the UCL Institute of Education. My thesis explores the emic construction of urban male identities, using liminality - a betwixt and between transitory space - to explore the meaning that young men give to their problematic journey into adulthood against the backdrop of socioeconomic disadvantage and violence. My prior academic experience took in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in psychology, where my focus was on the impact of socioeconomic disadvantage on prosociality.
Professionally, I have worked in the third sector for many years devising and implementing impact and evaluation strategies for youth-centered organisations. I have been recognised for my work by several of the leading lights in the sector including New Philanthropy Capital and Project Oracle.
