My areas of interest are diaspora mobilization, transitional justice, identity politics, local peacebuilding, post-war reconstruction and reconciliation and corruption and conflict.
My current research is based on those who seek justice abroad and the diaspora's engagement in transitional justice. I'm also researching the political transition and religious radicalization in Burma and Sri Lanka
I supervise PhD and Master's students. My main areas of teaching are conflict analysis; conflict resolution; civil society and peacebuilding; development cooperation and conflict sensitivity; identity-based conflicts; diaspora politics; ethnicity and nationalism.
