Carl Langan-Evans

Programme Leader MSc Strength and Conditioning, Liverpool John Moores University

Dr Carl Langan-Evans is currently the Programme Leader for the MSc in Strength & Conditioning and the former Head of Sport Science Support Services/Strength & Conditioning at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Carl completed his doctorate (PhD.) in applied sport physiology and nutrition examining weight loss strategies for combat sport athletes. Carl’s former post doctoral research was funded by the sport nutrition company Science in Sport (SiS) and specifically focused on examining the formulation and modulation of ergogenic nutritional aids for elite sport performance. Additionally, Carl is an accredited strength & conditioning coach with the United Kingdom Strength & Conditioning Association, a practitioner recognised by the Sport & Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr), a qualified sports therapist and completed a master of research (MRes) in sport physiology also at LJMU. Carl teaches on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, inclusive of those in strength & conditioning, sports nutrition and applied physiology. Alongside his university role, Carl consults with a number of professional and Olympic combat sports athletes inclusive of those in the UFC, Bellator, Cage Warriors mixed martial arts promotions, boxing and taekwondo.
