Carol Cutler White

Assistant Professor, Community College Leadership, Mississippi State University

With over 20 years experience in higher education program development and management, I have recently transitioned to a tenure track research and teaching position. My goal is to expand the conversation and evidence about the role (and the value) of community colleges in the higher education sector. This involves research into the state governance of higher education and the associated funding allocations in support of community colleges. My research will also focus on community college leadership and the skills needed to advocate on behalf of community colleges and equity at the local, state, and national level.

As a public administrator, I have research interests in connecting the various levels of government to examine how federal and state funding can complement each other to improve educational attainment and community economic outcomes. My experience in workforce development will focus my research interest on the P-20 pipeline and the future of work.
