Carol Southall

Carol Southall is Course Leader and Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire Business School, Staffordshire University, UK. A former Operations and Training Manager in the tourism industry, she entered academia on completion of her MA Tourism Management in 2008. Carol is currently studying for a PhD focusing on the relationship between cultural awareness and visitor satisfaction in tourism. She has published in the areas of Family Tourism, Culture and LGBT Tourism and is also an invited member of the Senior Advisory Board for Harrington Park Press. Alongside her academic career Carol continues to guide and drive UK and European coach tours for one of the UK’s leading award-winning coach tour operators. Industry experience also includes seasons as a Resort Representative in France, Switzerland and Yugoslavia, as well as a period of hospitality industry employment in Sydney, Australia.
