Artist in Residence, Body In Mind, Sansom Institute, University of South Australia

Cat Jones is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, writer, curator and researcher. She is artist-in-residence Body In Mind, Sansom Institute, University South Australia and previous artist in residence roles include School of Medicine and Pharmacology, University Western Australia (UWA); SymbioticA, UWA; and OSCIEN (QLD). Cat has presented seminars and papers for Neolife, Science Literature and the Arts Symposium; Fiona Woods Foundation; National Experimental Arts Forum; Aesthetics After Finitude and many others. Her research projects include olfaction; the neuroscience of embodiment and body illusions in chronic pain; the science of plant signalling and adaptive behaviour; the history of women in botany and the censorship and anatomy of the clitoris. Her artworks have been presented internationally at Performance Space (Sydney), Stanford (CA), point b (NY), Project Space 643 (CA), Vitalstatistix (SA), Proximity Festival (WA), Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Fremantle Art Centre, Wired Lab (NSW) and many others.
