Catherine Harris

Research Associate, Sheffield Hallam University

Cathy is a research associate in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Cathy has research interests in the voluntary and community sector and exploring the experiences of groups who may be underrepresented or marginalised. She recently managed a research project commissioned by Arts Council England exploring diversity in the children's literature sector. She is also currently working on the evaluation of Children's Communities, a Save the Children programme aimed at improving outcomes for children living in deprived areas, and the evaluation of Age Better in Sheffield, which evaluates services provided for older people to reduce loneliness and isolation. She previously worked as a research officer at the children's reading charity BookTrust, conducting research and evaluations of their programmes.
