Catherine Mei Ling Wong

Senior Research Officer in Climate Governance, James Cook University

Catherine is a senior research officer at The Cairns Institute. She did her PhD at the Australian National University on risk governance in the nuclear power industry in India. Prior to that, she spend two years as a journalist in Singapore and India and was the assistant editor of the ASEAN Economic Journal. She was also a research associate at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, specialising on regional environmental cooperation and risk management. Presently, her research includes a comparative analysis of climate policy in Australia, the UK and China, risk governance in hazardous industries and smart regulation.
