Catherine Shaffer

Adjunct Professor, Simon Fraser University

Dr. Shaffer-McCuish currently is a Research Analyst for the Government of Canada. In this role, she assists on research projects on the prevention of violent, organized, and financial crime (e.g., money laundering and terrorist financing). She also is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University.

Broadly, Dr. Shaffer-McCuish’s research and professional activities focus on the assessment and management of general and specialized forms of violence (e.g., intimate partner violence [IPV], gang-related violence, sexual violence) among youth and adults, the association between mental and personality disorders and violence, and evidence-based practices for working with individuals who engage in violence and other forms of offending.
