Adjunct Associate Professor at Victoria University; Affiliate, Monash University

Chandra has extensive experience in labour market and economics of education research. He has completed many research projects for governments, both state and Commonwealth, and other public and private organisations. The projects cover a broad range of topics:
forecasting the supply and demand for labour
projections of replacement demand
employer-supported training
future demand for teachers and nurses
skill shortages
rates of return to qualifications
migration
geographical dimensions of social inclusion
analysis of course completions in vocational and higher education.

He is currently completing a number of reports for NCVER on employer-supported training in Australia, future job openings for new entrants (with Victoria University's Centre of Policy Studies) and skills used at work (based on data from the Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC)).

For 21 years until 2016, Chandra was Associate Professor (Research) in the Centre for the Economics of Education and Training (CEET) at Monash University. Previously he worked as a lecturer at Deakin University and as a senior tutor in the Department of Econometrics, Monash University. He is also Adjunct Associate Professor in the Centre for International Research on Education Systems (CIRES), Victoria University.
