Charlie Outhwaite

Postdoctoral Researcher in Biodiversity Change, UCL

Charlie Outhwaite is a postdoctoral researcher based in the Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research (CBER) at UCL. She is currently working with Tim Newbold and Carole Dalin to investigate the interactions between biodiversity and agriculture at a global scale. Using the PREDICTS database, Outhwaite investigates global drivers of biodiversity change at the local scale. This research is part of the NERC funded BIOTA project which aims to determine the interactions and trade-offs between biodiversity, agriculture and trade.

Outside of this project, Outhwaite is also interested in large-scale biodiversity monitoring and the production of biodiversity indicators, and the use of occurrence records to determine large-scale species trends.
