I am PhD student at the University of Malawi College of Medicine school of public health and family medicine, under the Consortium of Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) fellowship. I am a part-time lecturer in medical and surgical nursing at Kamuzu college of nursing (University of Malawi). I have a post-graduate diploma in health sciences education from the Witwatersrand university (South Africa), masters degree in nursing from the University of Cape Town (South Africa), a university certificate in Midwifery from University of Malawi and a Bachelor of science degree in nursing also from University of Malawi. Prio to starting my PhD in 2016, I was a full-time lecture in medical and surgical nursing at Kamuzu College of Nursing. Before joining the university, I had served on government as a nursing officer at Zomba mental hospital and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
