Chris Anderson grew up in St. Charles, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate work in Ohio and his graduate work in Los Angeles. Field work for his graduate research was conducted mainly in Texas and Mexico. Before coming to Dominican in 2014, he had postdoctoral research and teaching positions at UCLA, Occidental College, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and Oberlin College. Chris studies the evolutionary ecology of dragonflies and damselflies.
