Chris Goto-Jones

History: Educated in Cambridge, Keio (Tokyo), and Oxford Universities, Chris is Professor in Philosophy. He is also a Professorial Research Fellow at SOAS, University of London, and an Honorary Professor in Asia Studies at UBC. He was previously Professor of Comparative Philosophy & Political Thought and Professor of Modern Japan Studies at Leiden University (The Netherlands).

Interests: Phenomenology and Buddhist philosophy; Ethics, Politics, and the Philosophy of Mind/Body. Chris is particularly interested in sources of philosophy and modes of philosophical thinking that fall outside the disciplinary mainstream, such as non-European philosophy (especially in Japan and East Asia), non-textual philosophy (especially in performance, visual, and interactive media).
