Christine Brubaker

Christine Brubaker is a professional theatre maker (director, dramaturge, writer) and researcher at the University of Calgary. She has worked professionally on major stages as an actor and director in Canada for twenty-five years. Her professional work includes both conventional theatre and new creation practices with a focus on new plays and contemporary adaptations.

Her recent research has expanded to include extended reality - live performance and interactive digital media. Current projects include Rella's Cambrian Dream, an immersive science adventure for family audiences, exploring the beginnings of life on the planet commissioned by the Harbourfront Junior Festival.

She is a core member of the Future Prairie Theatre Research team and has received an Insight Development Grant to conduct strategic foresight explorations for the theatre sector. Her research is supported by the SSHRC, CADA, the Canada Council for the Arts, The Toronto Arts Council and the Ontario Arts Council.
