I am an Associate Professor & Enterprise Research Fellow in Education Futures with University of South Australia. I also hold an honorary Principal Research Fellowship with The Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education at The University of Melbourne.
I earned my doctorate from Columbia University’s Teachers College; since then, I have held higher education positions in the culturally diverse contexts of New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. I am the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in research and teaching practice.
My research focuses on innovative approaches to assessment, feedback and learning engagement in higher and professional education. I am especially interested in assessment and feedback-enabling technologies and how these may interact with complex learner-centred systems, such as ePortfolios. I have received over 2.35 million AUD-equivalent competitive research grant funding to advance knowledge and practice in my areas of research. I have authored over fifty publications on related topics and I have provided expert interviews to nationally syndicated radio programs and newspapers, as well as Times Higher Education.
