Claire Black McCoy

Professor of Art History, Columbus State University

I am the Turner Chair in Art History at Columbus State University in Georgia and focus my teaching on nineteenth-century European painting and sculpture. I have published on subjects related to French Romantic Art for expert audiences in Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide and Studies in Romanticism (formerly Prisms) and for beginning students with entries on French Romanticism and Jacques-Louis David in SmartHistory (KhanAcademy.) A frequent speaker at conferences and for the general public, my research focuses on nineteenth-century art and the history of sculpture during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
