Senior Lecturer in marketing, University of Huddersfield

Claire is a senior lecturer in Marketing at the University of Huddersfield. Her research interests lie with small business marketing, entrepreneurship and tourism.

Claire completed her PhD at University of Ulster in 2014. Her thesis examined the process of strategic marketing planning in the context of the tourism industry, with a specific focus on heritage tourism. She investigated the coordination and management of strategic marketing functions, while also examining processes of strategic implementation, using qualitative research methods. Her research engaged both the public and private sectors.

Claire has previously lectured at University of Ulster, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, across Marketing and Management courses. She also has experience of working in both public and private sectors. Before embarking on her academic career, she worked in industry as a Marketing Executive and prior to that, as a Research Assistant on several public sector consultancy projects.
