Cristina Ruano Rodriguez

Cristina Ruano Rodriguez holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid specialising in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Public Health (Epidemiology, Planning and Nutrition) from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She is a University Expert in Community Nutrition and holds a post-graduated diploma in Mediterranean diet and Sports and Nutrition from the University of Barcelona.
Since 2009 she is working in the Nutrition Research Group, at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where she has participated in national and international projects. She has taken part in several research lines in the field of Nutritional Epidemiology and she is author and co-author of many articles on the relationship between nutrition and diseases. She also is a lecturer of Pharmacology at the Facuty of Health Sciences, ULPGC.
She is member of the Biomedical Research Centre in Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition (CIBERobn). Member of the Division of Transfer and Dissemination of the University Institute of Biomedical and Health Research (IUIBS), University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
She also carries out communication activities collaborating in the Cadena SER Las Palmas radio station with a weekly section on nutrition, and in Radio Televisión Canaria with a nutrition section in the television programs "Bienmesabe" and "Al Alimón".
