Sêr Cymru II Fellow & Senior Lecturer, Geography & Biosciences Departments, Swansea University

I am a biologist working at Swansea University (United Kingdom). During my PhD (2009, University of Oviedo, Spain) I studied anthropogenic impacts on soils and sediments of estuarine environments but in 2011 I moved research topic to work on something I have been always passionate about, wildfire.

My current research focuses on the effects of fire on global carbon dynamics and also on fire impacts on soils, and social perceptions of fire. I am also interested in biochar and pyrogenic carbon as potential carbon sinks.
