Daisy McManaman

Daisy McManaman is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher based in Glasgow, Scotland. Her research interests revolve around representations and expressions of femininity. Daisy is a PhD candidate at University of York’s Centre for Women’s Studies, where her thesis project reanalyses representations of women in Playboy through an intersectional feminist lens, seeking out moments of complicated empowerment with the aim to shift the lens from Hugh Hefner and onto the women who produced, consumed and featured in Playboy content.

Daisy holds a BA (hons) in Fine Art Photography from the Glasgow School of Art, and an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
