Senior Research Fellow, The University of Melbourne

Damon Alexander completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at La Trobe University before completing his PhD examining One Nation and the Australian Far Right at Monash in 2006. Damon has worked in the School of Social and Political Sciences since 1998 teaching Australian Politics and Public Policy and more recently as a Senior Research Fellow on a number of Australian Research Council funded projects. His research interests cover a broad range of areas including decision making in public policy and management; public sector innovation; networks in politics and policy; civic and political engagement; local government; rural politics; and extremism. He is currently working on an ARC funded Discovery project with Mark Considine and Jenny Lewis examining how elite level policy actors make decisions in response to complex policy problems.
