Daniel Hungerman is a Professor of Economics; he is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Professor Hungerman has done work on fertility & child wellbeing and on church/state issues and the determinants of philanthropic activity. He is the former Executive Director of the Association for the Study of Religion Economics, and Culture, a former member of the executive committee of the Association of Christian Economists, and is the President of the Association for the Study of Generosity in Economics. He also enjoys teaching at Notre Dame and has been recognized by the university for promoting excellence in undergraduate instruction. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University and holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Miami University.
