Scientific Director, American Gut Project, University of California San Diego

Dr. Daniel McDonald is the Scientific Director for the American Gut Project run through UC San Diego's School of Medicine. Daniel received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2015 under the mentorship of Prof. Rob Knight, and received a certificate in Interdisciplinary Quantitative Biology from the BioFrontiers Institute under the guidance of Nobel Laureate Prof. Tom Cech.
