I've been studying fathers and families for the past two decades. My lab at USC launched the HATCH study, which follows couples from pregnancy to postpartum and measures their hormonal and neural responses to parenthood, in 2013. We are now conducting a 7-year follow-up wave to see how perinatal stress and adaptation shape child and family outcomes at school age. I also recruited a companion cohort in spring 2020 to look at how pandemic lockdowns affect the transition into parenthood. When I'm not doing research, I love listening to, and playing, indie rock music, eating tacos, hiking, and writing in coffee shops.
