Dasantila Golemi-Kotra

Professor, Biology, York University, Canada

I finished my PhD from Wayne State University, Michigan. My research thesis was focused on understanding the mechanism of antibiotic resistance in bacteria. Then I continued my postdoctoral training at Yale University, researching on strategies to design small proteins to tackle interactions of biological molecules involved in cancer and viral infections. As an independent researcher at York University, I set to focus on microbial infections and in particular microbial response to antimicrobial chemotherapeutic agents. I love teaching microbiology and get the students to appreciate the chemistry of microbial life and understand the infectious diseases at molecular level.
