Dave Michels is a researcher at Queen Mary University of London with an interest in data ownership and digital assets.

He joined the Centre for Commercial Law Studies in July 2017 to work on the Microsoft-funded Cloud Legal Project. He is currently conducting full-time research on various legal aspects of cloud computing, with a particular interest in intellectual property, data protection, and privacy.

The project is funded by a generous charitable donation from the Microsoft Corporation. He wishes to thank co-authors Jean Bacon, Christopher Millard, and Jat Singh.
