David Annand

Dr David Annand, EdD, MBA, CPA (CA), is a Professor of Accounting and Associate Dean, Student Experience in the Faculty of Business. Dr Annand completed his Doctorate in Education in 1998. His thesis deals with the experiences of instructors in graduate-level computer conferences.

Dr Annand’s research interests include the analysis of costs and organizational structure on distance-based universities, as well as the Community of Inquiry learning framework. His research is based around the study of cognitive behaviors in these contexts.

Dr Annand has a particular interest in the development of Open Educational Resources (OERs), specifically relating to introductory financial and management accounting. He has also written several accounting-related undergraduate and graduate-level texts, all available as OERs.
